Rotten Plums

The faceted purple plum beads reflect light, in which light represents  life, growth, and goodness; juxtaposed to the green and blue beads depicting decay, damage and waste. 

 

The bouquet also conveys opposition. The bull thistle is prickly and will damage your skin when held whereas the peony is soft and delicate. 

 

The cicada exoskeleton on the blade of grass and the IO moth represent the brevity of life and compliment the transformative property of the decaying fruit.
